Count Leon Piniński was a professor of Roman law, first at the University of Lemberg, and from 1918 at the Jan Kazimierz University in Lwów. In addition to his academic work, he was interested in art, literature, music and politics. He developed very active cultural, social and political activities. He was a member of parliament, governor of the province of Galicia, and a member of the Imperial Court. The public functions he held required him to give numerous speeches. Many of them resulted from his political activities. In the present paper I will discuss his opinions and views on the reform of the electoral law for the Austrian Imperial Council, which were published by the newspaper “Gazeta Narodowa”.
