Article 32 of the Act of 21 May 1999, on firearms and ammunition, as well as from the regulation issued by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration on 26 August 2014, regarding the storage, carrying, and registration of firearms and ammunition. These provisions require urgent legislative changes and the elimination of significant practical uncertainties. In this regard, the author addresses, among other issues, the legal basis for the obligation to apply the PN EN 14450 standard introduced by regulation, the case law of administrative courts concerning the applicability of Polish Standards, and the gaps in the regulations governing the relationship between national standards for firearm storage devices and international regulations. In conclusion, the author proposes a number of possible solutions for the current legal framework in this area (de lege ferenda).
